Wow, some time since being here, huh? I have been busy deciding some things on my tanks, and real life stuff has been keeping me from posting any news as of late. So here are the stats of the tanks.

55 gallon- Total of seven inhabitants. Three male B. Macrostoma, One female. Two female BN Pleco, Green Dragon strain. And a single stubborn juvie sunset platy who would not be pulled from the tank.

40 gallon- Total of nine Inhabitants. Four small angels, soon to have the tank to themselves. Two B. Pugnax males, seeking homes. Two B. Unimaculata females, wanting love. One female B. Renata.

29 gallon- Total of I dont even know lol. About six B. Pugnax, mostly males. One female possible but doubtful. Four B. Ocellata, all four pairbonded. One set is looking for a home, as I am just out of room for all of them.

15 gallon- Total of five B. Albimarginata. They are so little and still not sexed. Thinking two definite males but again, not 100%.

10 gallon- Total of unknown Elassoma Gilberti.

As of right now I have decided there are a few species I want to work with and the rest need homes.

The Macrostomas are my main project, as they have been for some time now. The Unimaculatas, I am not certain if they are even still young enough for spawning, so they may be retired. One pairbonded set of Ocellatas will stay and the Renata as well. The angels belong to my husband and once they pair up, One pair will be staying, the other two will need to be rehomed.

So I am basically looking at getting the following fish some homes-

The Gilberti. No longer have the time to focus on them.
The Pugnax. They are wonderful but very aggressive. I may keep one pair to be housed with the      Macrostomas but not certain just yet.
Two of the angels. I will need them gone once I get a pair.
One pairbonded set of Ocellata.

Pretty sure that covers them all. If any of you readers are interested, contact me. Ill be posting some of these up on facebook here in a few as well.

  1. I've been interested in macrostoma for quite some time and stumbled onto your blog today - do you have recommendations for breeders or people to contact in regards to buying them? For some reason my google-fu is failing me on this one, though I see single individuals on aquabids from time to time.
